Have you insured your Castle?

As the old adage states, an Englishman’s home is his castle. A place for him and his family to relax and enjoy life far away from all the stress and anxiety generated by everyday life, but if your home isn’t protected then you run the risk of the modern day equivalent of barbarian hordes pillaging your ‘castle’ for their own craven desires.

How Safe Is Your Fortress?

The Christmas period in particular, is the one time of year when the demand for the warmth, security, and protective environment that hearth and home fosters, is at an all time high. The festive period perfectly encapsulates the feeling of the house as a fortified ‘castle’, keeping both the elements and unwanted guests at bay.
Yet history has shown that even the sturdiest castle’s walls have been breached at one time or the other and recent research shows that during the festive period, there is a marked rise in house burglaries. Why? Because when a house is full of expensive presents and designer gifts it present thieves with the perfect opportunity to raid your home and steal your Christmas.
The question remains if intruders go on a looting rampage in your ‘castle’, have you got the necessary cover required to make sure they don’t steal your Christmas as well?

Pull Up The Drawbridge

Christmas is the time for giving and sharing, but when you’re busy filling up your home with expensive gifts it could mean your are uninsured. The dark nights and festive season have long conspired to create a wide range of opportunities for thieves to ruthlessly exploit. If you’ve already got cover, great, but you should find out exactly what you are covered for to ensure your Christmas gifts and presents remain protected.
For example, check if popular gifts such as mobile phones, iPods and iPads need itemising on a policy for being covered as possessions used away from the home.

Castles Made of Sand

A house without content and buildings insurance is akin to a castle made of sand – unsafe and unwise. Christmas is about celebration, and not the worry and anxiety caused by how to replace stolen presents. Don’t let the risk of potential burglaries dampen your festive spirit.
You’re the King of your ‘castle’ and a wise King knows the value of pre-emptive strikes. Make sure you have insurance cover in place for all of your Christmas presents this year and you’ll remain lord of the manor come December 25.
