Use Fun Garden Furniture to Create an Outdoor Family Area
Our family heads outside for most activities, meals and entertaining once the weather warms up. That is why we take such great care in choosing the garden furniture. When we were first married, like so many, we were on a mighty tight budget, and skimped on the outdoor furniture we bought. It did not take long to see why the chairs and table had been so unbelievably inexpensive.
After just one summer we were in need of new chairs and tables, and thus we vowed to be more conscientious in our selection. Because, not only do we not want to have to buy new furniture each and every year, we also do not want to waste money. And after a little research, we found that we could get a wide variety of durable furniture and still maintain our sense of style while remaining in budget.
As our family has expanded, we have gone through lots of different types of furniture, like wooden, metal and even wicker. But there are two things that have made the biggest difference in our outdoor space, and enabled us to get the most out of being out of doors. Those are the garden parasol, and the shed.
We went with an overhanging parasol a few years ago, and things have never been the same. All the concern over protecting our children, and our selves from the harmful rays of the sun vanished. Of course we all still lather up with heavy duty sunscreen, but having a spot to sit in the shade has made a huge difference.
It has meant that we can lackadaisically read the paper in the morning right outside, and the kids can get started on their homework immediately after school out there too. All without major concern for heat stroke, or sunburn. Instead we have basically added on a whole new space to live our lives, whether it be sunrise, or sunset.
While this is all fine and dandy for the sunny parts of the year, the shed was an absolute necessity for the damp, wet months. We house the fun loving parasol when the weather starts to take a turn for the worst in the shed in order to prolong its lifespan. And the same is done with the furniture, because the last thing we want to do is have to replace it because we were not diligent over its care and maintenance. Now that we have all the pieces of the puzzle in place, we plan to keep them that way, at no additional cost to us for at least the next few years. Just long lazy days of sunlight spent in the beauty of our own family garden, thanks to the fun garden furniture and the sheds.
