First Home Insurance and Then Come Dine With Me

So, I had a message on my answering machine from my sister in law telling me that she wanted to talk to me about something to do with home insurance. Immediately, that talking dog who says, Looking for home insurance quotes? Oh yes! Try Churchill home insurance, popped into my head. Honestly, I could not begin to imagine what she would want to talk to me about insurance for.

But after a second or two of mulling that over, and shaking the image of the talking dog from my mind’s eye, I guess the idea of television made me remember that I had a question of my own for her. It is an idea I want to share with you guys, because I think you might be interested in doing something similar too.

I want to do a family version of Come Dine With Me over the holidays season. Both she and I love that program, and are competitive so it might be a ton of fun. The other family members might take a bit of coaxing, but as long as we keep things light hearted, and keep the grand prize simple it could be a real blast for us all.

Aside from liking the premise of it, I think it is a great way to liven up the holidays. We spend a great deal of time at our relatives homes, and they at ours already, so that foundation is already laid. The holidays will give a theme to work around, and give us a diversion from the lack of gifts that will be placed under the trees this year. We can make great food the feature, and play down the gifts.

Only flaw I see is that Stan will want to play the role of the narrator, and crack jokes while filming this whole thing. I love the idea of having it recorded, but am not eager to do the majority of our evening’s preparations all by myself. Doesn’t sound quite fair if everyone else will be doing their work as couples. Well, it is in the formative stages as far as ideas go. And I need to get the others interested before I get bogged down with details I suppose.

Just hope that I have a quick answer for my sister in law regarding her home insurance question, because I want to tell her about this contest and get her involved in the organising too. But, I do not want to be rude, and since she already left a message I have to wait my turn patiently. This will be extremely hard to do because I think she is going to go crazy for this idea, and know just what the prize for the winners should be.
